It's definitely a main conversation for most creatives. "GREAT! TikTok is being banned! Now how are people going to find me??"
Well, we still have Facebook, Instagram, X, Threads, and other social media platforms but one thing that will always work, even when social media goes down: Personally reaching out to people and building an email list.
If you have not already, it's time to build your email list. But how do you do that? You can have people email you and then save that email in your inbox or you can create a website to collect them that way.
You can also make a newsletter or start a blog to send out to people.
Whatever you do: Do not solely relay on social media to get out there. You can also be featured on News articles and Magzines. Here's a few that I've done:
Do not limit your reach just to social media. Use it and do not stress over it (easier said than done, I know!) But make sure you are getting your name out there directly and indirectly with people.
Every successful business relays on a newsletter and website. They use free marketing tools like social media for reach, but they have direct contact with their customers, and you should too!
Truth is: social media will go down at some point and when it does, you will have a limited ability to reach people. So, let's go old school and get those emails!
And lastly, build communities not followings. It's so important to be in touch with people and not just when we want to buy something.
I know so many people who are wanting to share their story and get their name out there. Do not be afraid to try something new!
